Nepenthes campanulata is one of the most unique species in the genus. Although found in the lowlands of East Kalimantan and Sarawak, we are classifying it here as ‘intermediate’, because we’ve found that it grows well in our highland nurseries, where temperatures range from 10–25 deg. C (50–75 deg. F). Its natural habitat is on limestone cliffs and it’s never been observed to produce climbing stems or upper pitchers. This growth habit of remaining compact and spreading through underground basal shoots is one of the characteristics that makes it a great terrarium plant for limited spaces.
