Returning for Feb 2023 after 9 months!
This is an interesting cross between a lowland and highland species. The female parent very rarely produces upper pitchers and when they do, they are curiously pipe-shaped. This cross exhibits upper pitchers quite readily and they are also interestingly shaped, as the first photo here shows.
History: First introduced in April 2015.
Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics from specimen parent plants. The female parent is a selected clone of N. ampullaria ‘Brunei Red’ (clone CR-12) which is one of the assorted clones formerly sold under BE-3012 and the male parent is our best selected form of N. aristolochioides from among those sometimes offered under BE-3023.
Source: From a single carefully selected clone out of microprop.
Climate: Intermediate
